September 26, 2006 was a magic night for me at the
Desert Rose Awards Banquet,

This annual affair recognizes volunteer service in the chapter. I had the most wonderful surprise. Unknown to me, my peers authors and writers designated me for the Desert Rose Award.  I am so grateful and have to say it's easy to work with such a bunch of talented and friendly authors and writers. This is what the award says: "In appreciation for outstanding contribution toward furthering the growth of Romance Writers of America, Phoenix Chapter, giving unselfishly of her time and knowledge to fellow members, and her continuing encouragement in helping them achieve the realization of their dreams." Thank you, Desert Rose members. In the ten years I have known you, I enjoyed every minute of your company, and no matter what happens next in my career, this award will always have a special place in my heart
