CAPTIVE

A romantic science-fiction novel
by Vijaya Schartz
coming soon

What if you woke up thirteen hundred years from now, in a parallel universe that treated you as a slave and forced you into an Amazon tribe?

Zania Nolev, Lieutenant in the North American Freedom Army,

is wounded in an attack on her military convoy.

She awakes in a sterile, non-violent world, where mating is prohibited and violence and passions have been bred out of the population. The inhabitants live in shielded cities, surrounded by inhospitable jungles.

But a clandestine fringe pays royally to watch forbidden entertainment of violent and sexual nature. A captive from an era where humans still mated, Zania is expected to perform for their pleasure. As a soldier, however, Zania will never submit. When, in the arena, she faces Svend, Viking warrior and sex champion, her first instinct is to fight him.

No matter how handsome or kind, she hates a man who doesn't value his freedom. Svend understands her reaction. He also knows that unless they perform, imminent death awaits them both.

Escape is on Zania's mind, but in the wild the dangers are many, not just the beasts, but the jealous Amazon queen and her cohort, including a Gorgon with serpent hair.

And on this serene and virgin Earth, deep trouble is brewing, and no one is safe...
