- Friday, November 4, 2005 -  Arizona Literary and Book Awards Banquet- Four Points Sheraton Hotel at Metrocenter in Phoenix.

As the President of the Arizona Authors Association, Vijaya hosted the awards in front of the press.  She also received an unexpected award for outstanding service for her seven years as President of the Arizona Authors Association and she participated in the book signing

On May 20, 2005
Kerry Lengel at The Arizona Republic wrote an article titled "Hits and Niches" in which he interviewed Vijaya Schartz among other authors about the various directions the niche markets are taking today's readers of fiction.  This article was reprinted in several newspapers across the country.
