"It's an absolute page-turner and I could barely put it down."
Beverly Forehand - Round Table Reviews

Anyone looking for a great summer read should check out this book! Celene is Lara Croft, Agent Scully, and Betty Friedan all in one!  She's a witty, intelligent modern-day woman who loves her cat and is as comfortable in a pair of fatigues and hiking boots as she is in heels.  Kin Raidon is likewise no typical muscle-bound hero - although he's certainly not lacking in the smoldering good looks department.  RELICS is a great book!  The characters are compelling and the dialogue is sparkling.  Mystery, romance, action, and drama abound in this futuristic thriller. RELICS abounds with plot twists, comic turns of event, romantic interludes, and high-speed escapes.  It has everything that a reader looks for in an action/adventure epic! The ending is sweet and fulfilling, the romance is steamy, and the mystery never lets the reader down.  Readers of Tom clancy, William Gibson, and Robert Ludlum will find this book enthralling - just don't expect the boys to save the day - as will sci-fi aficionados in general. Good Work, Ms. Schartz!

Sinclair Reid - Romance Reviews Today

"Oh, boy, is it captivating. From the first word, readers will be entranced by the multifaceted characters and the story-driven plotline. Celene is an intelligent, independent woman who has an inner strength that this reader grew to admire. Even in the face of untold danger, she does what needs to be done. Kin is a strong, admirable man who wants nothing more than to kill Carrick himself, especially since Carrick is the one who murdered his family and his first love. RELICS is a wonderful follow-up to the first Operation: Pleiades book, FULL CONTACT. Celene is a fabulously strong, kick-butt heroine and Kin is more than a match for her.  The action is non-stop as they race around the globe. Wondering if disaster will be averted will have you on the edge of your seat, reading page after page in anticipation.  Full of more insight into this future world, RELICS also manages to work as a great standalone book, despite its place in this series.  This is one continuity series that futuristic fans will not want to miss.

Sheryl, Coffee Time Romance - rating 4 cups

I was drawn into this book by how Celene was looking for answers to the questions about her life; and Kin, who is trying not to fall in love with her, knowing that he will be the one to kill her if need be. I loved how this book kept me waiting for more and was able to deliver a great story of suspense and intrigue. This is a great book for those who love stories of aliens, suspense, and a hint of romance.

Denise Fletcher - gottawritenetwork.com

OPERATION: PLEIADES: RELICS is a futuristic thriller that would make a great movie. Celene is never sure who she can trust, what lies waiting for her in the shadows or if she can change her fate. I feared those on her trail, more than the aliens, though. They may have had superior weaponry, but their behaviors and personalities wouldn't have made me hide in the corner. If this tale can be a future happening, watch out. We're in trouble.

" ...will keep you captivated from beginning to end."
Gina - Love Romances - 5-hearts rating

Responding to an excited message from her father Armand, Celene Dupres leaves Montreal, Canada to join him in the Ukraine—he has found the mother load of treasure—a crashed Anaz-voohri space ship with some of the aliens’ coveted relics. She quickly departs and as life would have it encounters a few unexpected delays and incidents enroute to meet her father including her having to approach the crash site from a detoured route. On her way up the mountain, she discovers a new skill—she can render herself invisible. But before she can reach her father a group of commandos descends on the crash site killing all but a long time family friend, Emile Blanchard. Vowing revenge Celene manages to procure one of the relics and safely leave the site.

Mythos operative and assassin Kin Raidon has his newest assignment: Celene Dupres. Celene is one of the seven sisters of the Pleiades. The “sisters” were all kidnapped by the Anaz-Voorhi as little girls and unbeknownst to them, transformed with alien DNA to make each a different form of killing machine. At a time to be determined by the Anaz-Voorhi each of the sisters will launch their own brand of disaster on the human population of Earth. With Celene identified by Mythos, Kin is sent to find out all she knows of the Anaz-Voohri and then put her to death. From the society of London, to the streets of Montreal and the mountains of Arizona, Celene joins Kin in a race against the clock to decode the relics and save the human race. Yet when she learns of Kin’s other mission her world begins to crumble anew.

RELICS is Book Two of the Operation Pleiades series. Each book is a fabulous stand-alone story and can be read in any order. This unique project, the brainchild of Triskelion Publishing brings together a collection of outstanding authors to tell the sisters’ stories. Ms. Schartz depiction of Celene introduces her readers to a wonderfully drawn kick-butt, independent yet caring and warm woman. Both Celene and Kin are three dimensional, totally believable characters. Even with Kin’s enhanced abilities and mission, he has a warmth that reaches through the pages of the story to enthrall the reader. One thing about Kin that appealed strongly to this reviewer is that Kin is the all too rare Asian hero. Huge kudos to Ms. Schartz for creating a character from an ethnicity so few are drawn from. Even without his enhanced skills, Kin is a dream man come to life.

Several characters appear in each of the books including ORION’s Jason Carrick and Anaz-voohri leader Kavak. To each author’s credit, the characterizations hold true from book to book. It is this reviewer’s opinion that to be able to have such continuity each author must have great communication skills and talent. Ms. Schartz has it in spades.

What drew this reviewer even more into RELICS were the scenes speaking to the mysterious Anasazi along with the speculation of what became of them. Ms. Schartz not only creates a viable explanation of what happened to an entire race, but includes some speculation of what became of the Incas and Mayans as well.

The action in RELICS is non-stop. Even when Kin and Celene share a private interlude, there is a palpable anticipation of what is to come next. While a book to enjoy over a several day read, the ending still comes too quickly, not because of loose ends, but because Ms. Schartz leaves you wanting to read more.

RELICS is a do not miss. The entire series will keep you captivated from beginning to end.

Celene, an archaeologist, receives a call from her father pertaining to a find, a possible alien ship crash site and requests her assistance with the discovery. She arrives at the Carpathian mountain site just in time to witness a massacre of all involved at the dig and to see the parties responsible. Together they must race against time to solve the mystery of the relics before Celene herself becomes the next weapon of destruction the aliens use against earth.

Second book of the Pleiades series- Relics is a nonstop action packed adventure from start to finish. An exceptional tale full of unexpected plot twists and turns, action aplenty, and sexy heroic characters. Kin is a sizzling hot and powerful hero, a compelling blend of strength and tenderness, of light and darkness. The perfect counterpart to the brave and determined Celene. "It's an absolute page-turner and I could barely put it down."
Round Table Reviews - Beverly Forehand

Archaeologist and linguist Celene Dupres arrives at her father's groundbreaking dig at an alien crash site just in time to witness his murder and betrayal by his partner and best-friend.  Clinging to the shadows, Celene watches as a government agency scours the area and removes all traces of the dig site.  Still reeling from the scenes she has witnessed, Celene realizes that the reason she hasn't been apprehended by these sanctioned thugs is that she is invisible!

Celene vows to avenge her father, redeem his work, and discover the mysteries behind this violence and her own strange capabilities.  On her quest, Celene meet Kin Raidon, a darkly dangerous and devastating handsome, Mythos operative.  Kin seems to have the same goals as Celene, but could his motives be more sinister?  As she is drawn closer to Kin and the mystery behind her father's death and her own past become clear, Celene begins to wonder just whose side the debonair Kin Raidon is on.  Mystery, romance, action, and drama abound in this futuristic thriller.

Celene is Lara Croft, Agent Scully, and Betty Friedan all in one!  This isn't your usual boy-rescues-girl action/adventure.  Celene Dupres is a heroine who stands on her own two feet and manages to save the day and, indeed, the planet itself.  Confronted with unpleasant secrets about her past and the persons she holds most dear, Celene bravely accepts grim truths and works to find solutions to her problems.  She's a witty, intelligent modern-day woman who loves her cat and is as comfortable in a pair of fatigues and hiking boots as she is in heels.

Kin Raidon is likewise no typical muscle-bound hero--although he's certainly not lacking in the smoldering good looks department.  He's a man who respects Celene, who makes decisions based on the facts, and who is willing to own up to his mistakes.  Together, Celene and Kin, make a dynamic set of sleuths--discovering the dark plot behind Celene's father's death and the grim danger facing the planet with finesse and tons of romantic tension.

RELICS is a great book!  The characters are compelling and the dialogue is sparkling.  The villains (both human and alien) have foibles that make them seem real and even more dangerous for their everyday irrationalities.  The Anaz-voohri Kavak's fits of pique at Wasaw and Carrick's obsession with his assistant, Flavia, give the bad guys dimension.  By adding idiosyncrasies to the villains, Ms. Schartz gives us antagonists who live and breathe and are dynamic equals to the hero and heroine.  Likewise, the support characters (including Isis the cat) are multi-dimensional and memorable.  Blanchard's unexpected sacrifice and Wasaw's pleasure at infuriating Kavak add so much to the story.  RELICS  abounds with plot twists, comic turns of event, romantic interludes, and high-speed escapes.  It has everything that a reader looks for in an action/adventure epic!  The fact that RELICS  is part of an exciting series of books is the icing on the cake.

Anyone looking for a great summer read should check out this book!  It's an absolute page-turner and I could barely put it down.  The ending is sweet and fulfilling, the romance is steamy, and the mystery never lets the reader down.  I can't wait for the next book in this exciting series and I'm running to the bookstore for the first Operation:  Pleiades  book.  Readers of Tom Clancy, William Gibson, and Robert Ludlum will find this book enthralling--just don't expect the boys to save the day--as will sci-fi aficionados in general.  Good work, Ms. Schartz!

"Oh boy, is it captivating."
Romance Reviews Today - Sinclair Reid
Montreal, 2023

They are the seven sisters of Pleiades. Taken from their homes as small children, their DNA was altered by the Anaz-voohri, an alien race of people who want to destroy humans and take over the Earth. Buried deep within each girl is a triggering device, and when the time is right, they will each carry out their programmed mission.

Archeologist Celene Depres receives a call from her father, who has discovered what could quite possibly be the biggest find in years, an Anaz-voohri ship complete with alien bodies. Excited beyond belief, Celene hops a plane and heads to meet her father and examine the artifacts. When she arrives, it's just in time to see her father and everyone else at the dig site killed by a group known as ORION. Celene fears being seen but is amazed to discover she can become invisible. Only one other person survives the attack, her father's oldest friend, Emile Blanchard. Horror and anger fills Celene when she realizes that Blanchard betrayed her father. Why would he do such a thing? For the money? The artifacts? Celene follows the trail of the artifacts and they lead her straight to Russia, where she comes face to face with her father's killer, Jason Carrick, leader of ORION, and a very handsome man named Kin Raidon. Who is he and why is he watching Carrick?

Mythos operative Kin Raidon's latest assignment is to stop Celene Dupres before she is activated to carry out her part in the destruction of Earth. Interest sparks between the two when they first meet, and Kin wonders why she too is watching Carrick. Celene confides in him, telling him about her father's death and Carrick's part in it. She also tells him about the crystal shards found at the dig site. Kin soon learns there is more to Celene than meets the eye. When he finds out that she has the ability to become invisible, Kin wonders if that gift is to help her carry out her mission. The two agree to work together, and the attraction between them flares up providing a brief respite from the case. Will Kin be able to carry out his orders to kill Celene now that he's developed feelings for her?

The second book in the Operation: Pleiades series is RELICS, and oh, boy, is it captivating. Kin's focus is two-fold: to save the world and hopefully the woman he loves. Hovering in space, the Anaz-voohri are watching and waiting for Celene to start the destruction process. Without conscious thought or knowledge, Celene does exactly that and is horrified to discover what she is and what she quite possibly has done. She's distraught and angry when she learns the truth about herself and what she was created to do. But more devastating than that is her discovering the man she loves is the one sent to kill her.

Author Vijaya Schartz writes an entrancing tale filled with action-packed adventure, danger at every turn, and a romance all rolled up into a neat little package.

Debbie, C2kwips&Kritiques - 4 1/2 clovers - Read it on their website

Archaeologist Celene Dupres didn’t know she was one of the children kidnapped by the Anaz-voohri until she witnessed the murder of her father and her safe little world came crashing down. Suddenly, she finds herself unable to trust anyone, including herself as the Anaz-voohri altered her DNA and her own actions are now suspect. Sexy Kin Raidon unexpectedly enters her life- but is he truly on her side?  Celene will have to weed through the chaos while dodging the minions of ORION, the agency responsible for murdering her father.

Relics is the second book in this phenomenal romantic science fiction series. Vijaya Schartz demonstrates her gift at expertly intertwining a believable romance with a high level of intrigue. Kin is the perfect Alpha male with just the right level of edginess. His feelings for Celene surprise him and his struggle to deal with his role in her life make him all the more appealing.

Vijaya Schartz does an excellent job at maintaining the continuity of this series. The seamless transition from one author to another without losing the sense of the characters is quite impressive. Ms. Schartz’s vivid depictions of Captain Kavak and Jason Carrick increase their sinister appeal as two of the most evil villains ever portrayed.

Relics is sure to appeal to all readers who cherish a good science fiction story coupled with an incredibly well-developed romance. This reviewer has only read two books by Vijaya Schartz but is quickly becoming a fan of hers. The Operation Pleaides series only gets better and better as the series progresses!  Kudos to Vijaya Schartz for such a marvelous job!

"If you like thrillers spiced with romance then you will adore this stimulating series"
Donna, eCataRomance Reviews - rating: 4 1/2 Stars

Vijaya Schartz continues the awesome OPERATION: PLEIADES series with her marvelous book RELICS. Again the Anaz-voohri, aliens altered and evolved from Earth’s Anasazi tribe, is wreaking havoc and mayhem upon mankind with the help of the second Pleiades sister, Celene.

As Celene joins her father on an archeological dig of alien relics, they are suddenly viscously attacked. Everyone is murdered except Celene and her father’s best friend and co-worker, Emile Blanchard. It seems Blanchard has betrayed the group to ORION, the all powerful government organization determined to rid the world of aliens and hybrids without regard. Celene, meanwhile, has escaped detection by becoming invisible. Needless to say Celene is in shock, with her father’s death and now finding out she can become invisible at will, but she is determined to honor her father’s last request and save the relics.

Kin Raidon an operative of Mythos, a private society determined to protect humanity, is on a mission. After he gathers all the information she has about the Anaz-voohri, Kin must eliminate Celene. She is a perceived threat as one of the seven abducted and altered children sent to help the Anaz-voohri. Kin struggles with his immediate intense attraction to Celene during the time they are working together to recover the relics form ORION and translate the alien code. Once again the people of earth are in danger of annihilation.

Vijaya Schartz brilliantly maintains the tension and adventure of FULL CONTACT with two more strong compelling characters adamant about saving the world in OPERATION: PLEIADES Book Two: RELICS. If you like thrillers spiced with romance then you will adore this stimulating series. As for me, I am looking forward to book three!

Nicole Hulst, Romance Junkies - rating: 4 Blue Ribbons

Celene Dupres was one of seven little girls kidnapped and altered by the alien Anaz-voohri in a bid to rid Earth of its inhabitants.  Little does she know that she possesses one of the keys to possible disaster and the decimation of Earth's population.

Celene is an archaeologist who is on her way to join her father's dig when she watches in horror as everyone there is slaughtered.  Somehow she escapes detection when she suddenly and mysteriously becomes invisible. She races to find out who murdered her father and to retrieve the relics from the alien ship that was uncovered. Following the artifacts to Russia, she meets the mysterious and attractive Kin Raidon, who wields his own brand of invisibility.  She doesn't know why he's helping her, but will take assistance where she can find it.   As the two cross continents and avoid their pursuers, Celene becomes very attracted to her enigmatic companion.  But when she learns about his mission, will her trust have been misplaced?

Kin Raidon is a MYTHOS operative.  He is supposed to get as much information about the artifacts from Celene as he can and then kill her before she can unleash whatever disaster the Anaz-voohri have programmed. He never anticipated becoming attached to her. Will he be able to carry out his mission when it involves killing the woman he may be falling in love with?

RELICS is a wonderful followup to the first Operation: Pleiades book, FULL CONTACT.

Celene Dupre is one of seven women whose DNA has been changed to become a weapon against mankind. While following Emile Blanchard, the man responsible for the death of her father; she encounters Kin Raidon, a man who has been sent to kill her if she helps the Anaz-voohri with their invasion plans for Earth. They have now joined together to stop the Anaz-voohri from succeeding in their quest to rid earth of mankind.

They will also try to hamper General Carrick, the leader of ORION, from deciphering the relics, which he has killed for. However, will they have enough time to get the job done?

Kin Raidon is an operative for Mythos an organization that is making sure ORION does not end up controlling everything in its path. He is sent to keep an eye on Celene and follow her to see what powers she has and if necessary, to kill her.

Celene Dupre is an archeologist just like her adoptive father and has been asked by him to assist in decrypting some strange writings that have been uncovered in a crashed ship. She has made a career of transcribing these texts and hopes to translate them before anything happens.

"...intriguing...wonderful romance, sheer danger...powerful and alluring story..."
Robin Taylor - Sizzling Romances - 4-flames rating

OPERATION: PLEIADES RELICS is Book II of a series where seven women, all abducted as young children, had their DNA reprogrammed by aliens known as the Anaz-voohri. After this, each girl was placed in an adoptive home and their early past forgotten. Now women, the Anaz-voohri, intent on taking over the planet Earth, has preprogrammed each woman to do serious damage to the planet, which could result in the death of millions of humans.

In this story, Celene Dupre is the target who has been assigned to Kin Raidon. Kin is a member of Mythos, and his order is to kill Celene should she aid the Anaz-voohri. Celene’s father and his crew, archaeologists, are all murdered right before her eyes. Even stranger, Celene suddenly becomes invisible, allowing her to witness this massacre and to see that her father’s former best friend, Emile Blanchard, was the man responsible.

Terrified for her life and of the fact that she can now attain invisibility at will, Celene doesn’t know where to turn. Celene is also plagued by nightmares of her early childhood. Determined to solve these mysteries on her own, Celene manages to grab a couple of shards that Emile is trying to pack away, certain that if she can translate these, she can find out why her father was murdered and perhaps learn more of her past.

After trusting a close friend, Sergei, he is quickly killed. She then runs into a collector named Kin Raidon. When he says that he specializes in Anaz-voohri artifacts, Celene takes pause. Celene is afraid of ORION and the corrupt Jason Carrick and of the GSS, so she must wonder if Kin belongs to one of these units. Though Kin can’t tell Celene who he works for, he knows he must get her to trust him. She must translate the relics, and he must find out what the Anaz-voohri have in store for her, because he just may have to kill her.

Both Kin and Celene have strong feelings for one another that show up immediately. Both try their hardest to fight these feelings, because so much is unknown, and the matter of trust is quite the delicate issue. Book II of the OPERATION: PLEIADES series is quite intriguing, has a wonderful romance, sheer danger, and much more. Schartz delivers a powerful and alluring story in this fascinating series. Readers must remember—as each woman is protected by Mythos, the Anaz-voohri gets more agitated, thereby creating a bigger danger to the human race. Don’t miss Book I or II, and be sure to stick around and collect books III to VII in this thrilling series.

"interesting twists and turns to keep the reader's interest from start to finish"
Reviewed by: Tami Brady at BookIdeas.com

Celene Dupres is the daughter of an archaeologist Armand Dupres. Armand is a man famed for his research and findings about the Anaz-voohri, a race of beings descended from Arizona Anasazi that had been abducted by an alien race eight hundred years previous. As the story commences, Armand has just discovered an Anaz-voohri crash site complete with bodies and pictographic writing. Celene, being a talent linguist and archaeologist in her own right, sets off immediately to assist her father. However, upon her arrival at the site, Celene discovers that her father and his crew have been murdered and the Anaz-voohri relics are being stolen.

Operation: Pleiades Relics is an adventure filled science fiction story. The story line has many interesting twists and turns to keep the reader's interest from start to finish. The main character Celene, though intelligent and clever, is naive about various aspects of her life and her work. This allows the reader to actively learn about the story background and present situation as the character does. This creates a smooth forward moving story without irritating and disruptive flashbacks.

"A fast paced, adrenaline-pumping addition to the wonderful Triskelion series"
Sara Sawyer - The Romance Studio - Read it on their site
November 18, 2004 - Overall rating : five hearts - Sensuality rating: very sensual

This is the second book of the Operation Pleiades series. The books revolve around the seven sisters of the Pleiades: group of women kidnapped by aliens as children and changed to have special powers. The Anaz-voohri have a "master plan," and have implanted a distinct mission in each of the women's minds that will trigger their unique abilities. The Anaz-voohris plan to take Earth for their own and colonize it, but they failed to factor in one small thing… human free will.

Celene Dupres' father is a world-renowned archeologist and has called on his daughter to help him on a dig. This is a special find of alien artifacts never before seen. When she rushes to his side, excited to help uncover what will change the world, she witnesses his murder by a man she thought of as an "uncle," and her father had considered his best friend. Now she is on the run. The artifacts have fallen into the wrong hands, and are now controlled by an organization called Orion. Orion is deadly when faced, and they have many operatives in the world to find people who could be touched by alien life. There is no tolerance. When she teams up with Kin Raidon, who seems to have a similar agenda against Orion, Celene feels she may just have a chance at avenging her father and finding the artifacts and what they do.

Kin Raidon works for Mythos. He is a hired assassin on a mission to kill Celene before she can exert her untapped power and help aid the Anaz-voohri in the destruction of the world. Only he never bet on how hard it would be to kill such a lovely, vibrant, strong and seemingly untouched woman.

A fast paced, adrenaline-pumping addition to the wonderful Triskelion series. Vijaya Schartz takes the ball and runs with it in Relics, and carries it wonderfully. Do not miss this addition. Celene and Kin jump off the pages and run right into your heart

"...a futuristic thriller that would make a great movie."
Denise Fleischer - gottawritenetwork.com

Celene Dupres was proud when her father, Professor Armand Dupres, informed her that his team had found an alien crash site in the Ukraine. Anaz-voohri bodies and crystal shards with pictographs and writing were being cataloged at the site as the two spoke on the phone. Her father requested that she assist in gathering samples for the lab and decipher the writing on the crystals. Already his crew had seen a similarity with these relics and those she studied at the Anasazi ruins in Arizona. This find would verify the abduction of the Anasazi 800 years before.

Celene's hope was the discovery would lead to finding a cure for a plague that had killed so many people on Earth. Even more devastating was a deadly electromagnetic field that destroyed the majority of the buildings in central Europe and killed millions.

Eager to join her father, Celene boards a plane to Munich and catches a connecting flight to Uzhgorod. Another craft transports her to her destination at the border of Slovakia and Ukraine.

No sooner does she reach the dig, does she witness soldiers executing the archeologists. To her horror, her father dies in her arms. Soon she realizes why they aren't searching for her. It wasn't her defensive training that kept her alive, but for reasons unknown to her she had a dormant ability to protect herself. Perhaps genetic research was responsible.

It was clear to Celene that Emile Blanchard, the other survivor, was working with ORION, the Global Security Sector agency. Celene learns that the relics are headed to the Moscow Archeological Museum. So begins her mission to locate the relics and find her father's killer.

"...an intriguing science fiction romance... all the staples of a good science fiction story."
 Susan Mobley, Romantic Times -

In the year 2023, Celene Dupre's father has made a fascinating archeological find—a partial intake ship with remains of the alien Anaz-voohri still intact. Arriving just in time to witness her father and his team being massacred, Celene is amazed to discover she has the ability to become invisible. On the trail of those who murdered her father, Celene comes to London.

There she meets Kin Raidon, an agent for Mythos, a secret organization created to protect humanity. Kin's mission is to eliminate Celene, who doesn't know she's one of the Pleiades sisters, seven women abducted as children and implanted with alien DNA—DNA that will bring about the defeat of mankind if not destroyed.

Set in the near future on an alternate Earth, this second installment in the Operation: Pleiades series is an intriguing science fiction romance. It includes all the staples of a good scary science fiction story, with aliens among us as well as in space, awaiting the right moment to invade and conquer Earth by wiping out mankind.

"Plenty of action... The story is very fast paced and enjoyable."
Review by Nigel  - BOOKLORE - UK - Recommended Read (7/10)

This is a Science Fiction Romance with plenty of action. The main character is Celene Dupres, a very modern woman with a past that is about to catch up with her…

Celene’s father phones to say he has made a fantastic discovery. He is working at the site of a crashed Anaz-voohri spaceship where he has discovered various artefacts and needs Celene’s language skills to decipher the alien Hieroglyphics.

When she arrives at the dig site she is just in time to witness her father killed by commandos. In the ensuing panic, as everyone else involved with the dig is murdered, Celene finds she has the power of invisibility. At his stage this does seem a bit odd but all becomes clear as the story unfolds.

Two agencies, ORION, working for the global government and Mythos, an independent multinational, are very interested in anything to do with the Anaz-voohri and Celene finds herself caught up in a Global conspiracy.

She meets Kin, a mysterious figure she instantly feels attracted to, but unknown to her he has been sent to kill her. Unfortunately for Kin the feelings are reciprocated and he finds himself in a conflict between his training and his heart.

The story is very fast paced and enjoyable. I’m a great SF fan but to be honest not so enamoured with the romance, However, Relics has a good mixture of both with neither detracting from the other. Recommended.

"
All in all, RELICS is an intense
thrill ride of a futuristic romance; I highly recommend it."

It is 2023 and the alien Anaz-voohri, who are genetically altered Anasazi, are ready to set their plan for conquest into action.  The Anaz-voohri have programmed the DNA of seven girls, so that at a specific time they will activate and cause great havoc.  Once this occurs, the Anaz-voohri will attack and conquer Earth.  Celene Dupre is one of the seven and she, unknowingly, gets herself involved with secret agencies and the Anaz-voohri.

After Celene witnesses the death of her archaeologist father, she is determined to find the reason for his murder and to stop his killers from using the relics that he found.  While at an auction, Celene meets Kin Raidon, who offers his assistance with her quest.  Unfortunately, Kin is an assassin for Mythos, a group fighting the aliens and a militaristic group called ORION.  Kin's mission is to take out Celene, if she is activated.  Will Kin be able to complete his mission, as the couple grows closer?

RELICS is a continuation of the Operation Pleiades series.  I'm really enjoying this series!  RELICS offers action, suspense, and, of course, romance.  The characters are complex and human, and the two main characters are strong and very heroic.  All in all, RELICS is an intense thrill ride of a futuristic romance; I highly recommend it.

A fourth novel by Vijaya Schartz was released in August in an electronic format from Triskelion Publishing. The paperback will follow next year. Seven women abducted by aliens in childhood and implanted with a timed DNA trigger to annihilate the human race are hunted by a government agency called "Orion" and aided by other aliens from Mythos. Together they fight back to protect the planet from the threat. Who does archeologist Celene Dupres trust? I recommended her first novel, Ashes for the Elephant God, and it is now being made into a movie. EXCERPT   OF   R E L I C S

When the military man reached the landing, Celene felt the urge to kick him in the throat.  Had he guessed her thought?  The man's piercing stare behind spectacles drilled through her.  In that instant, fear gripped Celene's chest as it had at the dig site.  Did the ORION officer know she had witnessed the massacre?  Blood rushed to her head.  She felt shaky and light suddenly, as if her body would lift off the floor.  Her hand holding the glass shook and became almost translucent, as if she would become invisible again.

No.  This couldn't happen!  Not here, not now.  Did fear or danger trigger her invisibility?  Celene felt in and out of phase, like a hologram with a faulty feed.  She had to stop this, calm her mind.  In a supreme effort, she convinced herself she was in no immediate danger.  As she relaxed, her body regained its normal density.

The ORION man turned away to shake someone's hand then walked with his group toward the Antiquities exhibition hall.  Had he noticed what happened to her?  Had anyone?  Did she hallucinate?  If not, how did she do that?

When the officer walked away with his entourage, Celene thought of following him, but she didn't trust herself to remain calm.  Besides, she felt relief at his disappearance, but she found it difficult to breathe, as if the dot of a phase-gun heated her nape.  Then she recognized the uneasy sensation.  Someone was watching her!

Celene spun around and stared straight at her observer.  Twenty feet away, a tall Asian man in a tan Italian suit and black silk shirt leaned against the wall in an easy stance, sipping from a square glass.  Who was he?  An ORION hit man?  Had he seen what happened to her?  Was he watching her for personal or professional interest?  He looked Chinese, with a curtain of wavy black hair framing a serious face.  What a magnificent specimen of raw animal sex appeal.  His splendidly muscled frame turned away from her gaze, and the very gesture made her ache for his attention.  She hated herself for that weakness but could not help it.

Although troubled by her emotional response to the handsome Chinese, Celene needed to find out why he watched her, so she walked toward the mysterious man who made her pulse quicken.  Careful, there.  She felt light-headed.  Was it the aftermath of her near invisibility, the champagne, or the adrenalin?  She wanted him to look at her, she wanted to gaze into the depths of his wide, almond eyes.  Even from a distance, he looked dangerous, like a Bengal tiger, never to be tamed.

It took no effort to smile when she reached him.  "My name is Celene Dupres, archeologist."  She extended her free hand.

With a surprised and slightly embarrassed smile, the stranger faced her in a graceful motion.  "Armand Dupres' daughter?"  She detected a hint of Mandarin accent.  When he took her offered hand in a warm grip, his dark gaze made her legs feel like pudding.  "Kin Raidon, avid collector, at your service."

I wish.

"You said something?"  His open grin bothered her as he caressed the magnificent jade medallion of an exquisite dragon on his muscled chest.  Could he read her feelings?

Celene felt herself flush.  "And what do you collect, Mr. Raidon?"

"Please, call me Kin.  I specialize in Anaz-voohri artifacts.  Found any lately?"  His enigmatic expression made the question sound even more dangerous.

Celene cleared her throat.  "These relics are rare and most of them have been appropriated by the Global Government.  I know of none available for purchase at the moment."  She paused.  "Why were you watching me earlier?"

His dark brown eyes glinted with flecks of gold.  "Maybe I was watching the same man you were watching."

"I wasn't watching anyone."  How unsettling to discover she had been so obvious despite her efforts to look natural.

"Yes, you were."  Kin nodded in the direction the officer had gone. "He noticed you, and attention from him is never a good thing."

"You know the man?"  Celene felt elated at finally learning something useful.

Sipping on his drink, Kin seemed in no hurry to answer.  "His name is Jason Carrick, a powerful and ruthless collector.  He always gets what he wants, one way or another."

"A collector?"  Celene tried to sound casual.  "Rather unusual for a military man."

Kin's dark eyes narrowed.  "Men of action can appreciate art, too, you know?"

"And what in heaven is wrong with the man's eyes?"

"One of them is made of glass.  A battle wound against a hybrid." Obviously, Kin knew much about Jason Carrick.

"Hybrid?  As in half-alien, half-human?"

Kin shrugged.  "That's his story."

Celene had to take a chance.  She looked around to make sure no one stood close enough to hear.  "How much do you know about the organization called ORION?"

Kin's face remained guarded.  "Not much.  They are rather secretive.  Are you one of those conspiracy theory nuts?"

Celene did not like the insinuation.  "I could take offense, but you know what?  For some reason, in the last few days some of these theories are starting to make sense to me.  How far do you think Jason Carrick would go to get what he wants?"

Kin sighed.  "Whatever it takes."

Celene lowered her voice.  "Even slaughtering a team of innocent archeologists?"

Kin remained very still then nodded gravely.

"And what about you?"  Celene held his gaze.  "How far would you go to get what you want?"

"You ask too many questions."  As if to soften the blow, he chuckled, all charm.  "It all depends on what I want and why."
